Sanjole's Broadband Wireless Tester, BWT, is designed to meet the demanding needs of wireless datacom and telecom product manufacturers. Whether you are interested in spread spectrum testing of analog components or multipath /doppler testing of digital processors, Sanjole has one system to meet your needs. And for the future WiMax market, Sanjole's architecture will provide a comprehensive Phy Layer tester with future expansion to the MAC Layer.

At the heart of the modular BWT system is a programmable wireless processor, PWP, with 20million (expandable to 60million gates), 16Mbytes of high speed static RAM, two 600 Mhz Digital to Analog convertes and two 100MHz+ Analog to Digital Converters. Programmable logic ensures that additional features can come on-line well into the future. And with 85Mhz receive and transmit bandwidth at baseband, the 14bit I/O coupled with 20bit digiatal processing scales well into future for emerging wideband wireless channels.

Chassis
The BWT-1000 is a 2U high rack mountable chassis equipped with five high speed fans for optimal thermal dissapation and a 300 watt power supply for ample power. The front panel features 10/100 Ethernet for remote control by a local or networked PC computer. The highly visible Vacuum Florescent Display provides boot status information as well as IP address verification. And the removable Compact Flash memory card provides a convienient way to download firmware as well as change or upgrade functionality without the typical delays associated with Ethernet downloads.

System Architecture
Sanjole's Broadband Wireless Tester, BWT, architecture provides a modular, compact, yet cost effective approach to wireless testing. Within only 2u rack space, the BWT provides the highest quality 85Mhz bandwidth basband I/O. And the customer may choose between analog or digital I/O to facilitate chip or system level testing. The system includes 4 basic types of module:

  • FPGA based Programmable Wireless Processor, PWP
    The PWP can be downloaded with different functionality by purchasing firmware options. The customer may also purchase a Development Kit, PWP-DK, to aid in development of prorietary firmware.
  • Input Module
    Current Input Modules include analog and digital baseband, while future modules will include RF. Contact Sanjole for your custom baseband digital requirments.
  • Output Module - Similar to Input Module
  • Single Board Computer, SBC

PWP, Programmable Wireless Processor
The PWP is an FPGA based digital processor board with one input and one output channel. The FPGA based PWP digital processor board is populated with one to four (Option P4) Xilinx VirtexII Pro FPGAs allowing for ?? to ?? million gates. The PWP can also be supplied with Option R8 allowing for ?? Mbytes of hi--speed static rams. NOTE: These options may be required for some Hardware Applications such as Multipath/Doppler.
